Educational providers are listed on this website as a public service, aiming to promote avalanche education by providing critical links for the public to increase knowledge and awareness. The No Blackout Days hosts these listings, but does not endorse, oversee or control the conduct of an outfitter's/ provider’s business or the quality of their programming. All entities are permitted, licensed and insured to conduct operations in the San Juan Mountains.

Curriculum Providers

There is considerable variability in the quality of course venues, teaching strategies, and curriculums within the avalanche education sector. In 2019, SAS began discussions with several reputable organizations to establish the inaugural group of the Avalanche School Network. Our vision is to assemble, train, collaborate with, and support a select group of SAS Curriculum Providers who represent the best avalanche educators and snow safety training programs in the nation. Together, this group is actively cultivating, researching, testing, and refining industry-leading best practices.

Avalanche Network Providers stand out due to their exceptional training, certification, instructional methods, and course quality. The Avalanche School Network carefully and methodically onboards new members and rigorously trains their staff. This thorough approach, combined with a commitment to selecting only the best organizations, ensures that all members of the Avalanche School Network exemplify our goal of excellence in teaching and learning.
